ARNE TISELIUS, 1948 NOBEL PRIZE IN CHEMISTRY MEDAL

A Nobel Prize medal awarded to Arne Tiselius in 1948 by The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for Chemistry. Tiselius was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for “his research on electrophoresis and adsorption analysis, especially for his discoveries concerning the complex nature of the serum proteins.”

Tiselius pioneered the separation and dispersion of molecular particles (including DNA, RNA and proteins) in a solution using his namesake Tiselius apparatus. He is also one of a mere dozen Chairmen in history (and only four Nobel Laureates) to officially preside over the Nobel Foundation, having served in the Chairman role from 1960-64.

Accompanied by the original Nobel Prize medal box. Only a few Nobel Prize medals have been offered for sale since 1901, making this piece incredibly rare and highly sought-after.
